Personal Facts and Details
Birth November 1833 35 25
Death 7 June 1909 ‎(Age 75)‎

Show Details Note: Margaret Evans Fenton was known to all as Mother. She was a quiet gentle woman beloved by all who knew her. She and Walter were founding members of the Christian Church in Berthoud and the Elders of the church made their home with the Fentons during their ministry in Berthoud. Walter was a charter member of IOOF lodge #99 in Berthoud and an Odd Fellow for 40 years.
There is much more about the Fentons, their wives and families in the above sources, including pictures. I don"t know how much or how little you want. I have pictures of the cemetery and stone and poor copies from the Berthoud Bulletin. "Pappy's" death notice in the Bulletin 1900 states that a brother Homer Fenton was living in PA and his sister Mrs. EKC Evans of Loveland survives. She must have moved soon after her brother's death.
With all your research its surprising that something about Pappy Fenton or the Fentons in Berthoud didn"t come up sooner. Weld CO is just east of Berthoud. Walter and Margaret's daughter Isa May married a Newell whose family farmed in Weld CO. Another coincidence, Hiram Evans in CO territory 1867, Married in Central City CO. Isa May's in-laws were married in BlackHawk in 1867. The Gilpin CO Historical Museum is a treasure house of information if you have the time to search for it. Perhaps you already have.
Thanks for the note on Eli. More canal connections. I'm looking forward to working on my own family history in Pittsburgh.Thank you for giving Margaret a family.
